When it comes to the ideal spot for an epic, sunshine infused, summer stag or hen do in Europe, one of the ultimate winners is easily Ayia Napa – the party capital of the gorgeous little Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
The destination offers one-of-a-kind nightlife that will keep even the hardiest of party animals satiated, as well as awesome weather, budget-friendly prices and a collection of unique stag and hen activities.
As the local stag and hen experts in Ayia Napa, here, Eventhuse have listed the top five points to think about while booking your event on this paradise island.
Thanks to its incredible climate and its well-deserved reputation for having 300 days of sunshine each year, seasonality doesn’t really apply in Cyprus as much as other destinations. However, stag and hen groups should be aware that the peak summer season will generally be busier, with more tourists visiting the coastal town, staying in hotels and enjoying the spectacular beaches with their turquoise seas and white sands.
The island is the busiest in July and August, and although the weather is perfect from April to October the months of May, June and September usually see less tourists visiting.
The “winter” season from November to March is cooler, quieter and less busy, however, as Ayia Napa is a summer resort place, visitors during the lower off-peak “winter” season might find some of the nightclubs, bars and restaurants shut at this time.
2. Booking Flights
With a huge selection of low cost carriers servicing Cyprus all-year-round, stag and hen groups looking for wallet friendly flights will definitely find a great range of options to suit everyone’s budgets. Keep in mind that the prices of flights do go up during the peak season from July to August, and flight during key public holidays such as Easter and Christmas are also on the more expensive side with students travelling home for the break.
It is also always a good idea to keep an eye on the flight prices and book in advance where possible. Ticket prices usually go up as you get closer to the dates you are looking to travel.
3. Hotel Occupancy Rates
Ayia Napa becomes significantly busier during the summer months, as seemingly endless groups of young revellers hit the town for a week of sun, sea, sand and wild nights. Be aware that if you do plan on heading to the party town during July and August, you are likely to find some hotels fully booked, or at least unable to fit your whole group.
If you want to guarantee all of the stags and hens in your team are staying in the same place, let us look after your accommodation in advance through our extensive network of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels or hotel apartments.
4. Optimal Weather
Although Cyprus was recently voted as having the second-best climate in the world by InterNations, there are definitely times of the year that are better for stag and hen groups looking to take advantage of the sea and the beach and appreciate the scantily clad men and women parading around in their skimpy swimwear!
Travel at a time when you know the weather will be hot enough for spending long days at the beach, in the sea or the pool, from May to September.
Before May the sea is still a bit too cold to swim in and the evenings can get chilly, while after September, although the sea is still lovely and warm, the weather is windier and cooler in the shade.
5. Unique Activities
Cyprus is a veritable treasure trove of unique and exciting activity options for stag and hen groups, and although get your club on until the sun comes up is still one of the top draws for groups who love to party, there are also so many other fantastic things to do and experience.
Why not try the local cuisine which is based on a meze or tapas style concept, ideal for groups who want to get a taste of all the different flavours.
